Direct Flights from Guanajuato to Europe could be a reality

A direct flight from Guanajuato to Europe could become a reality, as the Government of Guanajuato, the Bajio International Airport, and the airlines are in talks to manage it.

In addition, direct flights from Bajío to Mérida could once again be available for travelers, this was announced by the Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, Juan José Álvarez Brunel, during his participation in the last day of the Tianguis Turístico México, which took place in Mérida, Yucatán.

“The airlines are always looking for the participation of everyone, government, and airports. I am very confident that next year we will see new flights and we have to be patient,” he said.

Juan José Álvarez Brunel said that during the Tianguis Turístico México there was an approach from two airlines, one of them Volaris, to once again offer a direct flight from Bajío to Yucatán, but it has not yet materialized.

Además mencionó que también hubo interés de otra aerolínea para ofrecer más vuelos al Bajío e incluso señaló que están en la gestión de un vuelo directo a Europa, aunque no indicó a qué país del continente podría ser.

Dijo que el propio Aeropuerto Internacional del Bajío les informó que rehabilitarán parte de sus instalaciones lo que permitiría concretar los vuelos a otro continente.
