Guanajuato strengthens its health care system

    The Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, announced the investment of 350 million pesos more for the state health system, to face the new threat of the Covid-19 pandemic and thus continue to have the best health system in the country.

    Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo made a supervisory visit to hospitals in the state and reiterated his recognition of the work of the medical staff and announced an investment of close to 350 million pesos, all with state resources, to strengthen Guanajuato’s health system.

    He explained that, for example, at the Silao Hospital, the hospitalization area was expanded, substantial improvements were made in the intermediate and intensive care areas, a new operating room was installed and the outpatient area was completely remodeled.

    He also announced that the Expanded Services Health Center facilities in the municipality of Victoria and the expansion of the Maternity and Children’s Hospital in Leon are already in operation.

    In addition, four Primary Health Care Medical Units will be delivered shortly, two of them in Irapuato, particularly in the community of Venado de Yostiro and the one in the Lucio Cabañas neighborhood, as well as one more in the municipality of Valle de Santiago and another one in Atarjea.

    Also under construction are the Mexican Primary Health Care Unit of Valtierrilla, in Salamanca, and the Comprehensive Care Center for Essential Health Services in San José Iturbide, as well as the rehabilitation and expansion of the Community Hospitals of Cortazar, Romita, and San Felipe, in addition to the Comprehensive Care Center for Mental Health in León and the General Hospital of Uriangato.

    “Our health system is ready to attend to anyone if necessary, but the best thing is not to get infected and not to get sick; if we all do our part, we will continue to move forward in the reactivation of the economic and social life of the state; let’s do our best to protect the health of our families and loved ones,” said the Governor.

    In Guanajuato, more than one billion pesos of purely state resources have been allocated to the pandemic, which is why the state’s health system did not collapse, not even at the most critical point of the pandemic in December and January.

    According to a study by Citibanamex, Guanajuato was recognized as the state with the best management of the pandemic in all of Mexico, for this reason, he said that it is necessary to continue strengthening it to maintain the status of the best health system in the country.

    CALLS NOT TO RELAX SANITARY MEASURES

    On the other hand, Governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo called on the population not to lower their guard and to redouble preventive measures in the face of the Covid-19 versus Delta variant, which is why he said the decision to further strengthen the medical infrastructure to address the pandemic.

    “Covid-19 continues to be a serious threat worldwide. In Guanajuato, we continue to fight this pandemic on all fronts, to protect jobs, reactivate the economy and, above all, take care of health. Now we are facing the Delta variant, which is highly contagious and dangerous, so we must not let our guard down,” said the Governor.


    So far, he explained, three million vaccines against Covid-19 have been administered and it is of utmost importance that everyone receives them, therefore, he urged the general population to get vaccinated, as well as to comply with basic hygiene protocols such as washing hands frequently, using masks at all times, respecting the healthy distance and, as far as possible, staying at home.

    However, he pointed out that if it is necessary to go out of the house, it is necessary to follow the sanitary protocols and thus take care of oneself and others.
