Las Conchas y Vino Nuevo Festival Tour || SMA Wine Society

The tour begins with your flight to Tijuana from your home airport.The flight from your home airport to Tijuana will be at your expense. For those joining us from Leon, we will provide you with the airline and flight number so you can book your seat on our flight and we will be contracting for our trip to the airport with Bajiogo or a private carrier if the group is large enough. Either way, the cost of transportation will be 450 pesos per person. Both these cost items can be added to your tour charge and we will make the arrangements for you.

Once in TJ we will board our luxury van for the trip to Ensenada and our hotel Torre Lucerna (see video) and you’ll check in to your deluxe room overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean. After arriving at the hotel and checking in, we will have a late lunch and the rest of the day is yours to relax by the pool, hire a taxi or Uber to explore Ensenada or sightsee other areas of interest which we can recommend. For those of you arriving from other cities or at different times there are buses outside the main entrance of the airport that will take you to downtown Ensenada where we will pick you up and bring you to the hotel. Since there are many excellent restaurant choices with varied cuisines and price points we leave it up to you to choose where you’ll dine for dinners.

On Friday, after breakfast in the hotel, we will begin our tour to the Valle de Guadalupe and the wineries especially chosen by our guide who has years of wine experience both worldwide as well as here in Mexico. Most of the wineries open at 11am so we will probably stop at two of them and sample their wines (either 4 or 5) before having lunch at one of the many fine restaurants available in the valley. After lunch, we will visit our final winery for the day and then return to the hotel for relaxation and preparation for dinner. Saturday will be a repeat of Friday with different wineries and restaurant for lunch. All the wineries will gladly sell you bottles of any of their wines that tickle your taste buds and you can also make plans to have multiple bottles shipped to you. Ask the winery for details.

On Sunday, the main event will take place in a beautiful oceanfront location near our hotel. The Las Conchas y el Vino Nuevo festival (see video) celebrates young wines, those bottled in 2018 as well as the area’s rich bounty of seafood. Restaurants from throughout Mexico will make their finest dishes for you to sample and wineries will pour Roses and whites for you to try. The sun will shine and the ocean breeze will cool you and the hours will melt away. It will be the highlight of your tour. The best part is that your tickets include all your samples.

On Monday, after breakfast in the hotel, we will depart for the TJ airport for our return to our respective homes.

The cost for this fabulous 5 day, 4 night excursion is just $2,800 USD double and $1,800 USD for a single. It includes round trip transportation to and from the Tijuana airport to Ensenada (or reimbursement if you take the bus), 4 nights lodging in a deluxe hotel room overlooking the Pacific Ocean, 4 breakfasts in the hotel, 2 lunches in Valle de Guadalupe, 1 lunch in the hotel upon arrival, transportation to and from Valle de Guadalupe, tour guide, 3 wine tastings on Friday and 3 wine tastings on Saturday, tickets to the Las Conchas y Vino Nuevo festival on Sunday. It does not include airfare to/from Tijuana, dinners in Ensenada, miscellaneous hotel charges, wines purchased for personal consumption, excursions into Ensenada, all alcoholic beverages, tips and gratuities. 50% non-refundable deposit is required to guarantee the reservation prior to March 1 with the balance due prior to April 15.
