  • Day of The Dead and
    Huipil Fundraiser Sale!

    Saturday, October 27. 2-5pm
Bordello Galeria, Casa de La Noche, Órganos 19

Do you know the history of Huipiles in Mexico and Guatemala? Huipiles are labor intensive hand made blouses made by indigenous women. How can one tell if they are of high quality? Do you know that some of the best Huipiles can take up to 6 months to make?

Huipiles are heirloom works of art that can be framed, worn as a huipil or altered to create a special blouse that is right for you.

Please join us for a Huipil Fundraiser Sale

    Saturday, October 27th from 2-5pm
(Students will be present to share)

Where: Bordello Galeria, Casa de La Noche

    Órganos 19 in Centro

All proceeds will go towards helping three university scholarship recipients have the opportunity to learn more about their culture and history by traveling to Mérida. These students are each trying to beat the cycle of poverty in their families. The privilege of attending the university has inspired each of them to dream and have aspirations! One of the things they dream of is visiting Mérida to learn more about history of their Mayan culture.

This sale will have some of the rarest and most exotic huipiles from Guatemala and Chiapas. Some of these huipiles will soon be extinct because the indigenous women have changed their designs and are no longer creating intricate details on the huipiles. Please join the girls and come learn about the history of huipiles, while supporting the dreams of three young women.
