PHOTOGRAPHY OPENING at Photographics Gallery in Centro – Mesones 57 ( CORNER OF MESONES AND RELOJ ) September 24th from 11 to 3pm.
Shannon and gallery owner Jo Brenzo featuring Silver Gelatin fiber based prints. I met Jo in 1994 when I came here to study photography at Bellas Artes. She was teaching black and white film and darkroom then and I fell in love with this medium. Needless to say, I stayed in San Miguel de Allende from that time on and eventually became her assistant in a private darkroom studio on 5 de Mayo. Having had that experience and later moving in to Col. San Antonio I opened my own darkroom studio which I still run today. Jo has represented my work in her various galleries around town for more than 25 years and it is an honor to exhibit my work along side of hers. The Academia & Galaría Fotografía SMA is the center for photography in San Miguel Allende. Founded by Jo Brenzo, the Gallery holds exhibits, offers classes, one-day photography excursions, and traveling workshops throughout Latin America. The Academia & Galaría Fotografía also hosts a meetup and coffee social for photographers every Saturday at 11 am.
