City of Jazz Concerts [] Jardin Principal

San Miguel de Allende will become the musical epicenter worldwide from November 11 to 24 during the second edition of “The City of Jazz San Miguel de Allende”.

It will bring together the highlights of the genre in the main garden, as well as in other points of great relevance and will continue to promote culture through this outstanding festival, where the different guilds of the city will meet, to promote music within their hotels, restaurants, shops, among other establishments within the framework of the meeting.

“The City of Jazz San Miguel de Allende” will be an event with reference worldwide, which will take place free of charge in the Main Garden, as well as in other squares and public spaces so that, both tourists and sanmiguelenses, can enjoy unique evenings to the sound of this musical genre, which integrates melodies and African-American rhythms.

Highlighting its artistic and cultural essence, San Miguel de Allende is all set to become “The City of Jazz”.

Welcoming the best exponents of this musical genre worldwide, this World Heritage city will sound to the harmonic rhythm of the trumpet, piano, percussion and guitar riffs.

By consolidating the tourism promotion strategy set by the municipal president Mauricio Trejo, the Directorate of Economic Development and Tourism presents the second edition of “The City of Jazz” which, from November 11 to 24, will fill the streets with music and talent with artists of international stature.

“From the 11th to the 24th we are going to have the second edition of jazz; they are in the Main Garden, it has no cost, it is to instill in people the whole theme of music, art, quality, events that we can have here in San Miguel de Allende and it is to give them one more offer that they can come to San Miguel to enjoy something different,” said Tania Castillo, Director of Economic Development and Tourism.

San Miguel will experience two weeks of the best jazz, everything will begin on Saturday, November 11 at 7:00 p.m. with the presentation of the Cuban pianist Gabriel Hernández, who has become a reference for San Miguel jazz musicians.

Subsequently, on Thursday, November 16 starting at 8:30 p.m., the festival of talent and sounds will fill the center of the city, with the presentation of Oaxacan composer and guitarist Gil Gutiérrez, who will share the stage with the talented American singer Veronica Swift. The next day, Friday the 17th, it will be the percussions of the Brazilian Cyro Baptista who will be in charge of filling the esplanade of the Main Garden with rhythm at 9 p.m.

As the main attractions, the musical group Paté de Fuá, will return to San Miguel with an unmissable presentation on Saturday 18, starting at 9:00 p.m., while on Sunday 19, the musical success of the Big Band Jazz de México, a world reference band of the genre that will duet with the Brazilian singer Daniel Boaventura, will be repeated. Also at 9:00 p.m. sharp.

As a closing event, pianist Adrien Brandeis and his quartet will officially close this music festival on Friday 24, at 7:00 p.m.
