As part of the Extraordinary Concerts of the International Jazz and Blues Festival, in this XXVII edition, will present “Tribute to Muddy Waters and BB King”, this Saturday, July 31, at The Santa Ana´s Public Library, Insurgentes # 25, Downtown, at 5:00 pm.

McKinley Morganfield (Issaquena County, Mississippi; April 4, 1913 – Westmont, Illinois; April 30, 1983), better known as Muddy Waters, was an American blues musician, generally considered the father of the Chicago blues. His figure and his sound were, in the same way, one of the greatest inspirations for the British blues scene, which began to emerge in the United Kingdom in the early 1960s. Muddy Waters has been ranked # 17 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the greatest artists of all time. Waters’ recordings from the late 1950s and early 1960s are particularly noteworthy. Many of the songs he played became classics, including “Got My Mojo Working”, “Hoochie Coochie Man”, “She’s Nineteen Years Old” and “Rolling and Tumbling” are all great classics.

Riley B. King or Riley Ben King (Itta Bena, Mississippi, September 16, 1925-Las Vegas, Nevada, May 14, 2015), better known as B.B. King, was an American musician, singer and songwriter. He is widely considered one of the most influential blues musicians of all time, receiving the nickname “King of Blues” and the nickname “one of the three kings of the blues guitar” alongside Albert King and Freddie King. . According to Edward M. Komara, King “introduced a sophisticated style of solos based on fluid bent [guitar] strings and brilliant vibratos that would influence virtually every electric blues guitarist who followed him.” In addition, Rolling Stone magazine ranked him at number six on the list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time and he is at number 17 on the “Top 50 Guitarists of All Time” list compiled by Gibson. King was invited to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.

Over the years, King developed an identifiable guitar style in his musical work, with elements borrowed from Blind Lemon Jefferson, T-Bone Walker and others and the fusion of musical genres such as blues, jazz, swing and pop.

The concert is in charge of the group ¨San Miguel Blues Collective¨, which is made up of the Canadian singer and harmonica player Dave Bingham, the guitarists Chuy Sánchez and Julián Arcos, the North American drummer Rick Shlosser and the leader of the group Antonio Lozoya on the bass.

Do not miss the opportunity to listen and enjoy this highly recommended group in San Miguel de Allende, all of them with extensive international experience!
