Benefit: Night of Music [] San Miguel Playhouse

Susan Varcoe, currently music director and performer in the Sondheim musical revue Comedy Tonight at the San Miguel Playhouse, is one of our city’s most admired and best-loved musicians. Last month, her grandson Roman was born prematurely at 2.5 lbs and underwent intensive neonatal care in Queretaro. He is out of danger, but the medical bills, at one point exceeding $5000/day, have left her daughter in debt.
As soon as the word got out, San Miguel’s top musical performers, among them Lady Zen, Liah Alonso, Electro Jazz Trio, Victor Monterrubio, and many others, offered their free service for a benefit concert, which will be given twice the same evening, Monday, April 3, at 6pm and 7:30pm, at the San Miguel Playhouse, Avenida Independencia 82. General admission tickets are 500 pesos, and cash is preferred, although there will be a card processing option as well.
Says Varcoe, “With top musicians from San Miguel we will raise the roof at the San Miguel Playhouse theatre! I know that the San Miguel community will want to support him and his parents through this benefit concert. All proceeds will go to them and Roman’s medical bills.”
