On September 16 at 10am, local authorities will have a civil ceremony to honor the heroes who, with their dreams of justice and liberty, made this an independent nation.  To kick off this event, the national anthem will be sung and words will be spoken to remember the heroes.

Later, at 10am, a civil and military parade will begin at calle Nueva and proceed toward the Jardin Principal. The parade is punctuated by actors on horseback representing Igancio Allende, Miguel Hidalgo, Juan Aldama, and other historical figures. Behind them, a pair of horses will pull an open carriage in which the Queen of Patriotic Celebrations and Regional Festivities will ride. She will be followed by the Queen from the Rural Communities. Students, emergency care corporations, nonprofit organizations, and other associations such as the charros, will participate in the homage to the heroes of the revolution as well as a review of the beginning of the fight for Mexican independence.

The parade will last approximately an hour and a half and will go through the following streets: Zacateros, Canal, Hernandez Macias, Insurgentes, Pepe Llanos, Juarez, San Francisco, Plaza Principal, Portal Allende, and Correo.
