  • The park in Mexico that looks like a ‘movie’ by Tim Burton

    By Fernanda Hernández

Ranchito Cascabel also known as Timmyland, has a retro and futuristic style that will make you feel in a Tim Burton movie.

This architectural park is an event venue and a set of surreal buildings that will surprise you with their incredible design and color. This enclosure of organic forms, giant sculptures of rattlesnakes and anthropomorphic figures, was built by Tim Sullivan, who was inspired by the works of Antonio Gaudí —creator of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona—. Ranchito Cascabel has a unique charm that will surprise you.

The best thing is that it is only four hours from the city and is the perfect spot to have the most instagrammable photos. Its labyrinthine architecture and mystical landscapes full of surreal animals, will allow you to enter Catalan modernism, with constructions inspired by nature and deep religious symbolism. This place has that mystical and unique essence that will allow you to get away from reality for a second.

Ranchito Cascabel also known as Timmyland, has a retro and futuristic style that will make you feel in a Tim Burton movie. This park is located in Atotonilco, a town full of attractions such as the spa ‘La Gruta’ and some churches. In addition to being a perfect destination to go as a couple, since in the surroundings you can find luxury accommodations.

Ranchito el Cascabel gets its name from its creator, Tim Sullivan originally from San Antonio TX, who after 20 years of work created this space full of fantasy and magic. This destination is perfect to travel with family or friends and enjoy a relaxing vacation, full of perfect spots for photos.

The best thing about this place is that you can rent it for events, since its open spaces will allow you to enjoy incredible views. In addition to having in the background the wooded landscapes of Atotonilco. The architecture of Ranchito Cascabel was in charge of Steve Kornher and the futuristic design by Bob Hoss.

Such a fun place to visit! Although it may be similar to the work of Anthoni Gaudi in Barcelona, our tour group likened it to something from Alice in Wonderland, the Hobbit Homes from Lord of the Rings, or an upscale version of Flintstone Village. We loved it! When is it going to be open for overnight guests?
