Our new art house theater in San Miguel is now open!

We have officially inaugurated Compartimento Cinematográfico which seeks to create a regular home for cinephiles in San Miguel de Allende and to present the most outstanding works of the seventh art on a weekly basis.

With the variety of enthusiastic local audiences and the urgency of cinema as a communal cultural experience in mind, the space offers an “arthouse cinema” accessible for all audiences, where they can enjoy curated programming and discover both contemporary Mexican cinema and foreign films that do not reach commercial theaters in the region. Compartimento Cinematográfico will host two screenings daily from Thursday to Sunday.

Huge thanks to everyone who joined us for the inauguration! We were honoured to welcome two of the actors from our opening film Identifying Features and are incredibly grateful to the Guanajuato Film Commission and the Secretaría de Turismo del Estado for their presence and continued support of independent cultural initiatives.
