At Insurgentes #63 this is one of my favorite new spots in town. I heard about their excellent mussels so had to go with local friends. The decor is sleek and contemporary, the staff excellent the the food really outstanding. I enjoyed mussels along with octopus pintxos and a tapas of figs and goat cheese wrapped in prosciutto. I was back and loved the mussels again. Their new outdoor terrace on the second floor is a lovely addition. I highly recommend it.

We have been here a few times and the service and food are excellent. Some of the tapas are small but they are also not expensive. We are blessed and fortunate to have many young chefs in San Miguel and similar places north of the border will be 2- times as expensive.

We went after Don Day recommended it – for the mussels. They were so tiny one had to use a magnifying glass to find them in their shells. However in their defense the sauce was delicious.

Vino & Tapas is a wonderful restaurant, food, presentation, service, etc. However, everyone has different likes and tastes which is normal. However, if you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all and let others try it and make their own decisions.

We’ve been twice and had excellent experiences both times. Delicious food and a good selection of Mexican wines.

      And very friendly service.
      Will definitely be back.

I agree! I think this restaurant has great food, and the prices are reasonable. We had excellent Mexican wine, and our server was very entertaining! We had the traditional mussels, escargot and pulpo – my kind of food! I don’t love the Mexican-modern grey, industrial-chic decor, but look forward to the rooftop. I will return!

We need to keep this restaurant here! They will also be opening a rooftop terrace sometime in April. Valet parking, great kitchen, and wonderful wines.Address: Insurgentes 63, Centro, Zona Centro, 37700 San Miguel de Allende, Gto.Phone: 01 415 152 2563

No, Vinos y Tapas is not “Excellent.” The red wine was cold, and the
white, warm. The mushroom pasta was served in a heavy, white, tasteless
sauce. The tapas were small in portion size, and mediocre. Everything was
expensive. It would be wonderful to see this restaurant succeed, but some
      changes are probably necessary.
