My husband became delirious from a bladder infection. Needless to say it was scary. I brought him to MAC hospital and Dr Maxwell checked him in. He ended up in the hospital for 2 weeks, 5 days in intensive care. Dr Maxwell was the support both of us needed. The hospital was excellent as was Dr Maxwell who also contacted additional specialists to bring him back to reality. His clear compassionate tone keep me from going crazy. I cannot speak highly enough about the care he received. 9 months later my husband is completely recovered. I am so grateful to Dr Maxwell for his excellent care.

I had acute appendicitis this week. I contacted my physician, Dr. Roberto Maxwell, about my illness and he told me he would meet me at the emergency room at M•A•C hospital, where he is the medical director. He did a thorough examination and diagnostic tests to determine the cause of my illness. He also had my medical history because I had taken the time to meet him a couple of years ago and had seen him for minor issues over time. It was extremely helpful for the surgeon to have my medical history and medication list when it came to the determination that I needed an appendectomy. Dr. Maxwell was there, coordinating with Dr. Melendez, the surgeon. The care I received at MAC hospital was excellent —from the doctor, the radiologist, the surgeon, the anesthesiologist and the nurses involved in my care. I did need a little help with the Spanish-speaking nurses, but both Dr. Maxwell and Dr. Melendez speak perfect English. I and my husband were very comfortable with the care I received primarily because there was no language barrier and because Dr. Maxwell is so thorough. He is excellent.

I was admitted to MAC hospital 18 mos ago, blood pressure and pulse completely off the charts. Dr. Maxwell came in once I was on the gurney, began questioning me to determine what was wrong. He is no non-sense, to the point which I was so grateful for. I was admitted to the ICU immediately, I had A fib and pneumonia, pretty bad shape. I got out of the hospital 5 days later, good to go, had to do oxygen for 3 weeks and a couple of followups. Further, although it appeared my A fib had been an issue for about a year even though I ignored it, he sent me to the Heart Institute in Quaretero and there they shocked my heart only one time and it was back in rhythm. Dr. Maxwell saved my life, he is amazing and I would recommend him to anyone. His bedside manner is no nonsense, he’s not the kind to hold your hand. Fine with me, just get the job done. I will forever be grateful he was my attending and I heartily recommend this fine doctor to anyone. He knows his stuff. love the guy dearly. And I have told him that!
