Oscar was referred to me after a stay in the hospital. I was very dissatisfied with the services he provided and the caregivers that he sent. From Friday noon to Sunday evening I had 3 different caregivers because I requested replacements. I provided each with a typed list of my medications and the schedule of when I was to receive them. On 2 or 3 occasions they missed some of my medications. One caregiver asked to leave for coffee and was gone for an hour. The whole time she was with me she was on her cell phone. The first one was young and seemingly inexperienced. I was very weak and tired after 2 successive hospital stays and just needed someone to be attentive and caring. Instead I needed to constantly supervise her. I “fired” the 3rd caregiver and cancelled the one scheduled for that evening. The next day Oscar and his wife arrived unannounced at my house presumably for their money. I asked them to have a seat since I was about to eat my lunch and hadn’t been expecting them. They left instead and never returned. Hopefully they realized that it would be wrong to expect payment for such substandard care. I would caution against using them unless the client is alert and aware and can ensure that the proper medication schedule is being followed.
