Esencia Yoga Spa, a Registered Yoga Alliance School, was born out of the passion to share wellness. We believe in the integration of your physical, mental and spiritual health to help you achieve the optimal state of well-being and balance. This is how we created your yoga classes and spa treatments.
San Miguel de Allende’s premier yoga and spa center, we are an oasis for relaxation and rejuvenation. The center is a place to play, explore, discover and find your balance. We are a warm environment (often literally!) and feature a variety of daily classes, male and female changing rooms with showers, a fresh juice bar and a spacious classroom where you will find a wealth of new friends and self-awareness.
Compassion for others and love of one’s self — wherever we may be — is what defines our “Esencia.” Esencia Yoga Spa was created for you and by you….

I love the class offerings at Esencia, especially the rooftop classes! They are held in a big bright space with a beautiful breeze and the sounds of San Miguel all around.
The classes range from Flow (more traditional Yoga) to Grow (Body Mechanics), which focuses on alignment and strength to Yoga Trapeze (Back and Core) centering on pain and stress relief. The instructors are all excellent and Melinda has a special way of bringing people together into a warm and supportive community.
The services are also great. I have had massages, facials, microdermabrasion/microcurrent treatments and manicures/pedicures and they were all top-notch treatments.
I have been practicing Yoga for close to 20 years and am so grateful to have found this little gem of a studio here in SMA!
What could be better than yoga on a covered rooftop in San Miguel? The experience is always amazing and I’m so grateful for this yoga community. We practice social distancing during these crazy times and it’s a great way to get your exercise and meet like-minded people.
Esencia has become an important part of my life; both for the yoga classes and the wonderful Spa Services. It ha s been a lifesaver during the pandemic….. Yoga classes with social distancing & protocols have been held on the roof of the studio. Melinda & her team have created a friendly welcoming atmosphere both for residents & visitors in San Miguel. One of my favorite things is having a relaxing massage every 2 weeks with Vanessa, who I highly recommend. Treat yourself to a memorable experience!
Esencia is my go-to for yoga and beauty services. I’ve been going here for years now and I am so grateful to Melinda and all her team. It’s a sanctuary. I love the rooftop yoga! And the facials are amazing. I go religiously and credit Vanessa and Erika for my skin’s improved texture and glow! This is THE place for self-care. Affordable, friendly, community-based and professional.
One cannot rave enough about this space – it’s a safe and comforting space in which one can achieve wellness. The yoga classes are kind and gentle and also invigorating and challenging; Melinda is skilled at her craft and her pride shows through. This pride also transfers to her support team AND spa team. The massages, facials, and pedicures are some of the best I’ve had. Microdermabrasion is such a great treat to oneself. The prices are fair and on point! Highly recommend! Cindy
Esencia is a San Miguel gem! The yoga instructors are excellent, the environment is lovely, and you can really treat yourself with some high-quality spa services. I particularly recommend the massage. Enjoy!
Esencia offers world class instruction and more classes than any other yoga studio in San Miguel. Esencia has kept me moving during the pandemic. I can count on Esencia to keep me strong, balanced and grateful!
This is my “go to” spot for yoga in San Miguel, and it has been for over ten years! Melinda always has plenty of classes, great variety, excellent teachers. I love the heated studio (don’t worry – it’s not hot for all classes), actually has infrared panels to heat, which you hardly ever find in the US, let alone a small town in Mexico. Everyone (teachers and students) is kind and inclusive. It’s like a small, welcoming community for all participants – no matter your experience, age, etc. And as a bonus, the spa services are awesome! I try and stay after yoga for a deep tissue massage or a facial at least once a month. Highly recommend!

If you love Yoga or if you were like I was 3 years ago and never tried Yoga, you MUST give Esencia Yoga Spa a try. There’s a wide range of classes offered, varied instructors and a clean, fun environment. I attended Esencia more than 3 yrs ago, didn´t think I´d ever be a Yogi or even like Yoga, I attend daily now and it´s because of the atmosphere and the variety of teachers and styles of teaching…..you won’t be disappointed!
