Soccer tournaments resume; pilgrimages and festivities remain suspended

In view of the change of the State Traffic Light to “Yellow without Alert”, the Municipal Government of San Miguel de Allende issued new measures that will take effect as of May 7. The hours for events and restaurants have been extended and soccer tournaments have resumed. Pilgrimages and festivities remain suspended.

After a work meeting with the health cabinet and in agreement with the Secretary of Health of the State Government, it was determined:

FIRST. In matters of capacity and schedules:

Hotels may operate at 75% of their total capacity and according to the authorized capacity in the “Health First” certification.

Restaurants and Restaurants – Bar may operate at 75% of their total capacity and according to the authorized capacity in the “Health First” certification, complying with the social distance between table and table. The last order they may receive will be at 00:30 hours, vacating and closing the establishment at 01:00 hours.
The schedule for weddings, social events or conventions in the Municipality of San Miguel de Allende, will be until 00:30 hours. Venues must be closed and vacated by 01:00 hours.

Semi-fixed commerce with take-out food sales will be able to receive their last order at 00:30 hours. At 01:00 hours the public space must be clean and vacated.
Parque Juarez and Zeferino Gutierrez will be open from 07:00 to 21:00 hours.

Public sports venues, including the Luis H. Ducoing Sports Complex, will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Public markets may operate from 07:00 to 20:00 hours.

SECOND: The reactivation of the municipal soccer leagues (tournaments) is authorized, with prior certification by the authority and in accordance with the guidelines issued by the COMUDE and the Civil Protection Department, taking into account the following:

The General Provisions approved by the City Council in the Protocols for the reopening of activities in the Municipality of San Miguel de Allende, dated May 26, 2020, shall be respected.

Sanitation filters will be installed, as well as temperature will be taken and antibacterial gel will be applied upon entering the establishment.

The public will not be allowed to attend.

Meetings before and after the sports activities are suspended.

THIRD: The suspension of the following activities is reiterated:

Festivities (including, couple races, bullfights, horseback riding, jaripeos, processions, festivities, dances), pilgrimages, religious, massive civic events and of any kind.
Operation of bars, canteens, casinos and nightclubs.

FOURTH: Those provisions that do not oppose the provisions of this document remain in force.

In order to reinforce the correct application of the actions decreed by the City Council, it is reiterated that non-compliance with the sanitary protocols will result in the cancellation of the “Health First” certification and will force the closing and closure of the business.
