With artistic exhibitions, talks and live music, the association “41 Árboles” celebrated this Wednesday the “World Tree Day”.

The event was held at the “Charco del Ingenio” Botanical Garden, with the participation of citizen activists, and some artist painters such as, Sofía Piñón, who exhibited three works in which she captured representative elements of Mexico such as the eagle and the snake, using materials such as grana cochineal and ink.

“I was reflecting a while ago, that then I think that a tree is more useful than a human, because then we destroy them, it is something that really… it feels impotent that the big heads of the country, kill like the Amazon forest, all this, completely finish with them, take care of their own lungs and realize the usefulness of nature and trees and all living beings, that they have conscience in that, thanks to them we are alive”, reflected the young woman on this special day.

Victoria decided to present some photos of dry trees, she decided to do it in black and white to highlight the textures and shapes that are made in the trunks, and to show that still life, in this case trees, is beautiful too.

Another exhibition was that of Felix, she was painting a picture with the entire ecosystem that inhabits a tree, to make people understand that in addition to the fact that it is a living being, there are other living beings that inhabit it, the positive things that a tree can generate in the environment.

At 12 noon, there was a talk about the importance of caring for trees and their benefits for the environment.

El Charco del Ingenio also gave a biological talk on tree care. And at the end of the event, Mario Hernández, the director of this ecological reserve, also spoke about the legal lawsuits and problems they have had to face to protect this area, which is a federally protected area.

The event also included a small space, some chairs and tables with material for the children to have fun doing some activities.
