    La Biblioteca Guided Tours:  Weekly Tours and Day Trips

    Our tours raise money for educational projects and
    scholarships for local children of San Miguel.

    Mineral de Pozos, Silver Mining Town: 7 hours round trip, From 9 am. to 4 pm. if you are a photographer and have an adventurous spirit, this tour is for you!! Pozos was an important silver mining town in the 18th century it almost became a ghost town few decades ago. Itinerary: Visit Silver mines: Cinco Señores, and Santa Brigida. Pass by San Baldomero, Asturias and El Triángulo mines. Pre-Hispanic musical instrument workshop. Included:Transportation, English- speaking guide and entrance fees. Not included: Lunch.  Note: Minimum of two people required Tour of Atotonilco & Dolores Hidalgo: 6 hours round trip.  Itinerary: Castillo’s ceramic workshop. Vazquez & JMB ceramic shops.  Church of Dolores Hidalgo, main square, house of  Miguel Hidalgo. Lunch time at Nirvana Restaurant and Church of Atotonilco, called “The Sistine Chapel of Mexico”. Included: Transportation and English speaking tour guide. Not included: Lunch. Note: Minimum of two people required. Cañada de la Virgen Pyramid: 4 ½  hours round trip.  This intriguing cosmic pre- Hispanic pyramid. The amazing Otomis built it from 540 AC to 1050 AC as a physical calendar  aligned to the stars to predict times and seasons for rain, sowing, harvesting and war, as well as the different equinoxes and solstices. Included: Entrance fee, bottle of water, transportation and specialized English speaking guide. Not included : Lunch. Note: Minimum of two people required and limited to 6 people. Guanajuato Guided Tour: 7 hours round trip, 2 hours walking tour in Guanajuato with 1 1/2 hours  for lunch and shopping. Itinerary: Pípila lookout point,  underground streets, Juárez Theater, Don Quixote Museum, University of Guanajuato, House of Diego Rivera. Included: Transportation, English speaking guide and entrance fee to Diego Rivera museum. Not included: Meals. Note: Minimum of two people required. Querétaro City: 7 hours round trip. Itinerary:  Aqueduct lookout point, cemetery where the most illustrious people of Querétaro are buried, Franciscan monastery of la Santa Cruz, regional museum, Plaza de armas square. Lunch at 1810 restaurant, house of La Marquesa, Santa Clara Church. Included: Transportation, English speaking guides, entrance fee of regional museum. Not included:  Lunch. Note: Minimum of two people required. Sunday: House and Garden Tour Info: Group meets every Sunday at La Biblioteca, Insurgentes Street # 25 at 12 pm. Tour last 2 hours approximately. Two or three beautiful homes are selected each week to be visited in this great tour.  Come to La  Biblioteca at 11 am.  and enjoy the live music played  by a traditional Estudiantina. Buy your ticket in advance at La Tienda  gift shop inside the library. IMPORTANT NOTE: We recommend that you bring a hat, sunblock, water  and comfortable shoes.  This tour requires participants to take leisurely  walk ( ½ mile or more) for the course of each tour.
