Playreaders is back!
By Marthe FraserWe’re kicking off the SMA Playreaders’ 2018-2019 season with a comedy to soften the blow of raising the admission price from twenty to thirty pesos. Even so, as I enjoy pointing out to folks—it’s still the best bargain in town.
Canada’s and my favorite playwright, Norm Foster, has written another fun and funny play.
Come join us Wednesday and Thursday, June 27 and 28, for “Lunenburg”.
Iris Oulette has inherited a home in the charming little town of Lunenburg, ova Scotia from her recently deceased husband—the thing is, Iris had not known the house even existed. So she and her best friend Natalie have driven from their Maine homes to check it out and find out why Iris knew nothing about it. Charlie, the charismatic next door neighbor, fills in the gaps of the mystery while romantic sparks fly. Come meet Iris (Barbara Ziff), her best friend Natalie (Judy Newell) and her new neighbor Charlie (Jim Newell). Dic Simandl will do lights and sound, Marthe Fraser directs. Plan to settle in and have a great time watching this story unfold in a series of twists and turns, spiced up
with love and laughter.Tickets are thirty pesos and will be sold at the door at 6:45 each evening on a first come, first serve basis. All ticket holders must be present when the doors open at 7:00 or their seat may be resold. The play will begin at 7:30 or when the house is filled. Correct change will be greatly appreciated.
