Please join us on Thursday, November 29th at Casa de la Noche for an afternoon of sensory pleasure. Enjoy a glass of complimentary wine while you browse the beautiful and unique designs of some of the newest to the San Miguel de Allende art scene.
Cathy Taylor is an award winning mixed media artist and popular workshop instructor. Her water media artwork is a celebration of the patterns, textures, and color found in the natural environment. Cathy is known for her ability to interpret a subject in a variety of styles. From her colorful detailed alphabetical designs including the Florida “Shell-A-Bet”, to her whimsical collages and multi-dimensional abstracts, Cathy’s work is represented in museums, nature centers and private collections throughout the US and abroad. She is the author of the popular book “Pigments of Your Imagination, Creating with Alcohol Inks”.
Veronicka Koebach has had a very extensive career as a clothing designer, jewelry designer and had her own decorative painting business for 28 years in Miami Beach before moving to San Miguel 15 months ago. Since here she has been working in her studio making jewelry, painting floor cloths and now making imaginative and colorful dresses from scarves. She offers painting classes for people who just want to have fun.
The Young Jewelry Makers of the School for Special Education have been tutored over the past two years by well known San Miguel jewelry designers David Godinez and Javier Bustos and mixed media artist and designer, the late Joe Miller. The Deaf young people attend Escuela de Educación Especial de San Miguel de Allende, a non-profit organization whose mission is to ensure that all San Miguel de Allende children who are Deaf become literate, independent and productive citizens who set and achieve life goals. Each of them has chosen to study and train in the school’s jewelry making vocational training program where they are preparing themselves for careers in the world outside of school. This is your opportunity to see their work, proudly showcased to the public at their first ever outside-of -school event, and to purchase a unique silver piece as a holiday gift for yourself or for someone special, at very affordable prices.
You won’t want to miss this very joyful and lowkey affair, an opportunity to fill your senses with the beauty of the creations of this wonderfully eclectic group of artists while being warmly welcomed within the lovely flower-scented courtyard of Casa de la Noche.
We look forward to seeing you there!
