At this Sunday’s UUFSMA Mostly Music service, four acclaimed San Miguel musicians share unforgettable musicmaking, including original compositions, classical works by Chopin and Kreisler, and contemporary music by John Williams and Quincy Jones. The four performers are:

Lady Zen (Alzenira Quezada), internationally known poet, performs as a director, poet, and vocalist at festivals in the U.S., Europe, Mexico, and Brazil. She received a Fulbright Scholarship in Opera Performance and, through the University of Southern Maine, a Community Service-Social Justice Award. She holds a Music Business degree and received a Stonecoast MFA in creative writing.

Felicia Moyes has performed throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, and North and South America as a concert violinist. She has appeared both as soloist and chamber musician with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra (NY) and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. Felicia was first violinist with the Miami String Quartet winning top prizes in the London-based Evian & Young Concert Artist’s International Quartet Competitions.

Ken Bichel is an Emmy Award winning composer, producer, and performer. A first-call multi-keyboardist in New York, he received the National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences Most Valuable Player award for seven consecutive years. He then became the first Virtuoso Award winner in perpetuity. Winner of two Gold Records, his collaborators include Aretha Franklin, Luciano Pavarotti, Billy Joel, and many other renowned performers.

Paula Peace, a nationally recognized chamber musician, was pianist and founding Artistic Director of the Atlanta Chamber Players for almost 40 seasons. With the ACP she performed in more than 250 cities in the US, Europe, and Mexico, commissioned or premiered 125+ works, and was featured in dozens of national radio broadcasts. She was awarded the Governor’s Award in the Arts by the State of Georgia in 2016.

Unitarian Universalism is a liberal faith inviting its community to gather around a set of harmonizing values and principles for living. Our UU Fellowship welcomes people of all ages, races, religions, sexual orientation, and gender identity. Belief in a divinity is not the central issue around which we gather for worship and generous action. Rather, we come together with a belief in community, love, compassion, social justice, and reverence for nature, all within the interconnected web of existence.
