WATERCOLOR PAINTING DEMO and BENEFIT SALE
Thursday, March 14

Casa de la Noche / Bordello Gallery
Painting with Passion and a Mission
by Barbara Poole
Join us at the Bordello Galeria this coming Thursday afternoon for an artist reception, exhibit sale, and watercolor painting demonstration to benefit our less fortunate children here in San Miguel. This is the 2nd of a series of artists Demos to share the process of art making. 100 percent of any proceeds will go to the disabled of our community in an effort to help disabled kids to enjoy outdoor sports regardless of physical disability.
The benefactor of the event is Hugh Mossman, an award winning watercolorist from Boise, Idaho, who has enjoyed winters in San Miguel for the past 12 years. Hugh’s paintings have been collected and published widely and he has achieved signature status in many art organizations, including the National Watercolor Society, the Northwest Watercolor Society, Watercolor West, and the Idaho Watercolor Society.
Hugh’s favorite subjects in San Miguel are the people, streets and architecture that make this town so special. Hugh’s goal with watercolor is to capture the essence of a subject in a loose interpretive style that is unique to the medium. You can see his work on his website, mossmanwatercolors.com.
Hugh is excited to share his approach to watercolor with a demonstration painting of a San Miguel scene, and he’ll will bring images of many local scenes at affordable pricing, all for a great cause.
In addition to the one day exhibit at the Bordello Galeria, Hugh’s demo painting in Watercolor will be raffled off while he is here.
Mossmann’s reception will be from 3PM to 6PM Thursday March 14. He will have his painting materials in the ready and will demo and answer questions throughout the event.
The painting created during this afternoon will be raffled off, and like the sales of all painting on display 100%of the proceeds will go to help others.
Please join us to enjoy this special opportunity to watch Hugh Mossman’s demo “art in action” in the fountain garden of Casa de la Noche, and see a collection of his award winning work commemorating our town. All purchases benefit disabled children of San Miguel. Light refreshments and a no host bar will be offered.
Bordello Galeria and Casa de la Noche are located at Organos19, Centro, 1/2 block off Hernandez Macias. For more information call 152 0732.
