NEPANTLIC ART EXHIBIT HONORS XOLOITZCUINTLES & SHAMANS
Isis Rodriguez, a pioneer in nepantlic art, will be honoring the xoloitzcuintle and the shamans in her newest show, “Perros Sagrados y Chamanes” at Galeria Nepantla in San Miguel de Allende on October 20th 2018 from 4pm to 7pm.
Isis will be unveiling two new archetypes at “Perros Sagrados”, a xoloitzcuintle and a shaman. The xoloitzcuintle, is a Mexican hairless dog that dates back to Pre hispanic times and is classified as a “primitive” dog. On the verge of extinction, this rare dog was once buried with the dead as guides into the afterlife and even cooked in certain ceremonies.
The public is invited to bring their xoloitzcuintles to the event. A blessing of the xoloitzcuintles performed by healer, Makulxochitl Tonalpoulke, will open the show at 4pm with the blessings.
