Jacobo Mendoza- Master Weaver – Join us for a Virtual Visit to Oaxaca
Join us as we learn the steps to creating a masterpiece – from the preparation of the many types of wool to the mixing of the natural dyes and finally the weaving.
This is an interactive live program with the Mendozas in their workshop in Oaxaca.

Mendoza is famous for his fine weavings in cashmere, alpaca, silk and mohair as well as his exclusive use of natural dye stuffs, many of which he grows himself. This is a great opportunity to see quality weaving and exquisite use of natural dye colors. Mendoza has won numerous awards in Mexico and abroad for his work. He and his family are master weavers and dyers. Their family has been weaving since before the Spaniards arrived in Mexico.
We will discuss the inspiration for his designs as we follow along with the process from sheep to rug. Participants will be able to ask questions and purchase rugs or wall tapestries.
