Assemblage Art Exhibition | Art by Bennett
Friday and Saturday
January 11 and 12th
5 to 8 pm
The current exhibition, entitled “Such a Blessing” is a testament to the sublime blessings that Bennett has enjoyed with this medium. “There have been so many fantastic experiences that I’ve enjoyed because of assemblage — the people that I’ve met in my art classes, the hundreds of hours spent scavenging through second hand stores, making 100’s of pieces over the years, and furthering my mission of keeping stuff out of the landfill and showcasing it’s beauty” says Bennett. “It’s been an amazing journey so far!”
The artist has been joyfully creating found object assemblages for the past 19 years. He began his art career when, after seeing images of Joseph Cornell’s work, Bennett caught his breath and thought “that’s for me.”
Since then, saving objects from the landfill and breathing new life into them has kept him in the studio, late into the night.
You’re welcome to view more than 40 of his assemblages on Friday and Saturday, January 11 + 12 from 5-8pm at Subida al Caracol 11 (just above the intersection of 5 de Mayo and Prolongacion Aldama). Private studio visits available, too! Preview some of his artworks at https://www.artbybennett.com/
Please call 415 103 8027 for a private tour of the art!
Note: Bennett will again be offering the ever-popular Original Art Raffle, where one of his original works will be raffled off! Buy 1 chance for $100 pesos, or 3 chances for $200 pesos. You’ll also have the opportunity to vote for your favorite piece of art during the show; yet most visitors find it difficult to pick just one! Good luck!
