  • Songwriters of San Miguel–Mandolin Edition

    Wednesday, December 19
    7 to 9:00 pm

    La Cocina de Cesar
    Salida a Celaya #12

    Hola, Fans of Original Music in San Miguel:

    I’m happy to report that our monthly Songwriters of San Miguel show for December will be a special Mandolin Edition. There will be three local songwriters playing their original material, each accompanied by one of the other songwriters on mandolin, mandola or mandocello. This is something we haven’t done before in the over three years of this concert series, and we’re happy to bring it to you for the holidays!

    Once again, we’ll be doing the show at La Cocina de Cesar, Wed. Dec. 19, Salida a Celaya #12, 7-9pm. This is the building vacated by Don Lupe Grill a few months back. The new restaurant is being run by Cesar, who was the manager at Don Lupe’s for many years. His new recipes are just fantastic (try the slow-cooked pork on chalupas, or the cream of pablano soup!). These shows tend to fill up, and so I recommend calling to reserve a table at 415-121-0114. No cover charge, but tipping is appreciated.

    The songwriters for this show are:

    — Nashville super-picker Mike Duncan (https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/mike<https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/mike?fbclid=IwAR1PgQAmGisS4O5QsbJPbjU16MxS0Iezv5tR8FC3tHJ2Kb4JzmMatsK_JOc>);

    –Rob Ramsey, guitarist/banjoist/songwriter from SMA via San Antonio, who will be debuting three new songs; and

    –SMA songwriter/multi-instrumentalist by way of Austin, Walter Ehresman (https://walterehresman.bandcamp.com/<https://walterehresman.bandcamp.com/?fbclid=IwAR1x-H292S0yY86-L678nBFyURE0eIcMMJoyYUch9PL2Br41Oocq8DbF140>).

    Our goal is to provide an ongoing outlet for songwriters in San Miguel in English, Spanish and whatever languages come our way, in an intimate setting.. So we hope you’ll come out and support original music, to help keep it alive and well in these parts. Hasta luego, and hope to see you on the 19th!
