    La Cocina de Cesar
    Salida de Celaya #12

    I’m happy to announce the line-up for our first show of the new year. There will be four local songwriters playing their original material, sometimes solo and sometimes accompanied.

    Once again, we’ll be doing the show at La Cocina de Cesar, Wednesday January 23, Salida a Celaya #12, from 7-9pm. The word is really getting out about how good the food is here. So fresh!, and an interesting, varied menu. These shows tend to fill up, and so I recommend calling to reserve a table at 415-121-0114. No cover charge, but tipping is appreciated.

    The songwriters for this show are:

    –we’re very happy to welcome back singer/songwriter Stephen Russell, in SMA from the Boston area for his annual stay;

    –long-time SMA music instructor/songwriter/guitarist/bassist Sach Rioja, doing canciones en español;

    –Rob Ramsey, guitarist/banjoist/songwriter from SMA via San Antonio; and

    –SMA songwriter/multi-instrumentalist by way of Austin, Walter Ehresman (https://walterehresman.bandcamp.com/<https://walterehresman.bandcamp.com/?fbclid=IwAR1CS9tyVrMraJskBfk5OaKyxOP36-9fp8MgnPqrNQ10DX3wAajrji_4Qi8>), celebrating the release of his new album “South of the Wall.”

    Our goal is to provide an ongoing outlet for songwriters in San Miguel in English, Spanish and whatever languages come our way, in an intimate setting.. So we hope you’ll come out and support original music, to help keep it alive and well in these parts. Hasta luego, and hope to see you on the 23rd.

    Walter

    Don Lupe Mexican Grill is one of my favorite San Miguel de Allende restaurants, period. Their food has a Tex-Mex slant to it (it’s the only place I know of in town where you can get cheese dip), and everything is unbelievably good. They serve fajitas, enchiladas, tacos, taco salad, and quesadillas. The prices are excellent, too. They have a 40 peso lunch menu which is the best value in town. Also, don’t miss the unlimited-refill jamaica agua fresca for just 15 pesos. I also love the outdoor garden seating area, and they serve chips and salsa while you are waiting for your meal.
