“From the Baroque to the Present”
A musical journey through the history of the guitar
Classical guitar duo “Dúo Nigromante” kicks off a series of concerts this November and December of 2022, at Sala Quetzal in the public library of San Miguel de Allende. Presenting a very interesting experience no one should miss.
The duo is made up of guitarists Antonio Romero García and Nun Kether Arredondo Granados. Both artists from San Miguel de Allende, with several years of experience. The ensemble stands out for playing pieces by composers from different periods and eras of classical music’s history. Offering a rich program with variety of sounds and styles, which takes us on a fascinating journey through the history and evolution of the guitar.
“From the Baroque to the Present” is the name of the program they will be playing this November 4 and 18, as well as this December 2 and 16, 2022. Within the program we’ll find pieces by famous baroque composers, such as: Johann Sebastian Bach, Antonio Vivaldi and Gaspar Sanz; Spanish composers from the romantic period such as: Francisco Tárrega and Fernando Sor; modernist composers such as Enrique Granados; and contemporary music composers such as: Andrew York, Ricardo Moyano and Philip Glass.
“Dúo Nigromante” carries out this journey through the different periods of music, alternating between duet pieces and guitar solo pieces. Certaintly a must go event for every guitar and classical music anthusiast.
