The 2019 San Miguel International Storytelling Festival concludes on Saturday, October 5, at 6pm, with the Showcase Finale, which from the festival’s founding in 2013 has been the most popular storytelling event of the year. The Showcase presents the best stories that have been crafted and told throughout the festival events and workshops. Over six years of the festival’s history we have heard an incredible array of stories of adventures and daily comedies of life.
The stories reflect international encounters of the various storytellers with people from various countries around the world, including Africa, Italy, and of course Mexico and the USA. There are stories of time travel, memories of a childhood magic carpet, an interview with Leonardo da Vinci, and a personal journey with Shakespeare. There are stories with titles such as “What’s in a Name?” and “Spiritual Defibrillation.”
