Consider the empress of America and mother of mexicans our lady of Guadalupe is the most venerate sacred figure in Mexico, and every year by December 12th. alboradas, fireworks, music, dancers, processions, children in native customs, are seen all around the town. Virgen de Guadalupe is totally immerse in the life of Mexicans, there isn’t any family with the traditional lupe among them, we pray her to ask for health, job, money or love, we can see her figure in cabs, bus stations, markets, government offices, hospitals.

In order to get a general perspective of its cult it is important to trace her veneration since the pre-Columbian time when the Aztecs had a very important temple at “El tepeyac” hill dedicate to Tonantzin “Our Mother”, then make a journey into the history of colonial Mexico to discover when the cult to virgin de Guadalupe spread out all over Nueva España and when hundreds of shrines, temples, basilicas and cathedrals where built dedicated to her, finally lets talk about this important phenomenon nowadays In the specific case of San Miguel, the city has many places honoring virgin de Guadalupe, the most important of them is the famous Mexiquito stablished by José Guadalupe Mojica on 1970`s, also every one of the markets does its own fiesta by the same week, “la aurora” factory use to organize a big celebration due to she was the protector of the workers.
