    In the municipality of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, it is open to the public, the Archaeological Site of Cañada de la Virgen (540 – 1150 after our time), an ancient ceremonial center of the civilization of Mesoamerica, located on the geographical border and geological of volcanic Mesoamerica and semidesert Aridoamerica.

    As a testimony of the complex pre-Hispanic Mesoamerican indigenous civilization, this ancient ceremonial center, belonging to the classic historical period of Mesoamerica (a contemporary of the Mayan cities, Teotihuacan and Monte Albán), offers us the opportunity to unveil the essential keys to understanding the original indigenous culture from Mexico, from San Miguel de Allende, the foregoing in time – space and circumstances of one of the 6 original civilizations of the planet and one of the two cultural columns of contemporary Mexico.
