Shannon discovered yoga in her home town of Orlando, FL. She moved to the metro DC area in 2012. She currently lives in Silver Spring, Maryland with her husband and 2 dogs. Shannon has been an avid indoor cycler since the early 2000’s and consistent practitioner of yoga since 2012. In 2011 she completed a spinning instructor certification program. Later she was encouraged by her spinning mentor to take her first yoga class. Shannon fell in love with the balance this practice provided not only her body but also her mind. Her love of yoga lead her to want to share this practice with others so she completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training certification in 2018 at extend Yoga in Maryland. Shannon provides a welcoming environment for students of all levels and in all walks of life in support of her philosophy that yoga is for every body. Since 2008 Shannon has worked in the behavioral health field. She has a bachelors degree in psychology and a masters degree in business administration. She is very passionate about sharing yoga with others because her practice continues to help her find grounding and balance in her daily life. Yoga is by far one of her favorite methods of self-care and she is very eager to share her knowledge of yoga with her students. Shannon currently teaches at Pulse Fitness in Bethesda, MD. She also teaches at a supported living community for adults with severe mental illness in Rockville, MD. Additionally she holds a monthly donation based yoga class to raise scholarship funds for a non-profit mental health treatment center. For more information please email
