    April is here, it’s beautiful on the roof and in the courtyard, so why not join us for an elegant chef’s dinner and/or a fun and casual Sunday Pizza on the rooftop here at Casa Papaya! We’ll be closed for the month of May, so here’s your last chance for a while to dine with friends, or make new friends, while experiencing chef Lee’s creative cuisine and Richard’s fabulous cocktails.  Please call us at 152-7014 for more info and reservations, or email us as soon as possible.     Buttery Shrimp in Kataify

    1st course

    Warm Spring vegetable Salad with
    North African spices, poached farm egg, baby greens

    2nd course

    Choice of:

    Chicken Bisteeya: flaky pastry filled with warm spices,
    egg, almonds, chicken, onion, herbs, served with
    honeyed spiced carrots and red onion marmalade


    Grilled Leg of Spring Lamb with pomegranate sauce
    on puffed cous cous with carrots and apricots


    Pistachio and Almond Baklava with Rosewater honey ice cream

    Thursday April 18:
    Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese

    Cocktail on the Roof: 

    Shrimp and Pork Dumplings, Daikon Cake and Thai Summer Rolls

    1st course: 

    Salad of sprouts, steamed vegetables, crispy shallots,
    crunchy peanuts and Spicy peanut sauce

    2nd course: 

    Khao Soi: Northern style golden curry noodle soup
    with chicken, pickled greens, crispy noodles

    3rd course: 

    Red Snapper with bean thread noodles,
    ginger and tamarind broth, spring vegetables

    Ginger ice cream in coconut tuille,
    mango in lime syrup

    Thursday April 25th:
    Northern Italian

    Cocktail on the Roof

    Antipasto of roasted marinated peppers, fennel, olives, fresh figs with prosciutto, Italian cheeses, roasted garlic and fresh bread

    1st course

    Handmade Ricotta Gnocchi, wild mushrooms, arugula and shaved parmesan

    2nd course

    Venice Style Seafood Stew with fresh clams and mussels, sea bass, shrimp, saffron, tomato and white wine broth, new potatoes, grilled focaccia and garlic aioli


    Pears poached in Red Wine with canoli cream and biscotti

      If you haven’t yet tried Casa Papaya for sup, you’re in for a treat. The hosts, Richard and Lee, are beyond gracious and welcoming, and the cooking is top-flight.

      A group of us met the other night for their every-other-week Pizza Sundays. Home-made sausage … vegetarian with more richness than you can imagine … and the kind of crust that only comes out of (an amazing) wood-fired oven. They also offer twice-monthly Chef’s Dinners, with fancier fare. We’re planning to attend the next one.

      These guys have spent a lifetime in restaurants, and it shows. They’re located on the same road as Sapasma, less than a quarter-mile from the turn-off; I forget the number, but there’s a blue door and a small sign. Their website is casapapayasanmiguel dot com.
