    FILM & DISCUSSION

    70 pesos
    Judy Jackson

San Miguel is blessed with many good Samaritans.  From Caminamos Juntos that helps deportees settle here to ABBA House that offers respite for migrants traveling north and south, there are many organizations and individuals that help those fleeing persecution in both the US and Central America.  The Center for Global Justice will highlight this work by screening Judy Jackson’s documentary on ABBA House, followed by a discussion with some of those directly involved.  In these dark times, it is inspiring to see human solidarity emerging all around us.

What we do The Center engages in local community support and outreach to promote and advance initiatives and movements toward social justice, grassroots empowerment and democracy, and environmental sustainability.  It is also devoted to critical analysis of the processes and impacts of globalization, both local and international. The Center works to develop alternative socio-economic systems that conserve and share the world’s cultural, economic, and environmental resources for the benefit of humankind.
