  • During the winter of 1959, Vianne Rocher (Jueliette Binoche) moved with her young daughter to Landsknecht, a small town in France. After settling in, she decides to open a chocolate shop near the church, where she makes exceptional chocolate, adapting the recipes to the hidden desire of each client. Most of the neighbors succumb to its exquisite sweets, something that the upper class, personified by the Count of Reynaud (Alfred Molina), does not see with good eyes. Faced with the power that chocolate wields in the town, the Count firmly opposes Vianne’s store being open, since, in his opinion, it promotes sin and idleness. Before the arrival of Roux (Johnny Deep), a gypsy who lives in a nearby camp, everything changes.
