  • Learn the art of ancient tai chi and qigong with Lydia Wong, a health and wellness expert from Singapore with over 25 years of teaching experience. Students will learn the art of Yǎng Shēng (養生) the most important concept in TCM (traditional chinese medicine) and the culture of Chinese health. The Chinese word “Yang” means to nurture, take care of, and nourish; “Sheng” means life, birth, and vitality. Together Yang Sheng is also translated as health preservation, life cultivation, or life nourishment.

    Benefits of this Health & Longevity program:

    Reduce falls and improve balance
    Improve joint pain and stiffness.
    Correct poor body alignment.
    Relaxation and health maintenance.
    Learn a tai chi and qigong routine.


    2 Classes a Week
    Tuesday and Thursday
    Time 3pm – 4:30pm

    Each student that purchases a 5 or 10-class prepaid card will receive a free consultation session to scan health priorities and then track progress over time. You’ll also receive a daily Qigong routine to do at home, in order to help deepen your practice and resolve any health issues. Videos and book in pdf via download, available on the website: www.sanmigueltaichi.com.

    Am Fun & Fitness Class:
    Tai Chi Mambo – Open class at Benito Juarez Park on monday, wednesday and friday, Time: 9:30am – 10:25am.
    Students learn the basic hand gestures and tai chi steps to music. We meet at the main or small basketball court.

      Best Tai Chi class I’ve EVER had the pleasure of taking. As a beginner who had only taken a couple of classes with a different instructor before attending I was concerned about how I would ‘fit in’ with students that had been studying with Lydia for quite some time. But my concerns were immediately put at ease with Lydia’s unique and relaxed attitude. Her ‘don’t sweat the details’, ‘no worries, nothing to PERFECT’ approach made the classes fun and totally TRANSFORMATIVE at the same time. I can’t WAIT to return to San Miguel to return to my Tai Chi practice with this REMARKABLE woman! If you are looking for a relaxed, calming, lighthearted and oh so HEALING experience I HIGHLY recommend San Miguel Tai Chi. Just being in the studio is a ZEN experience. Surrounded by a grove of bamboo, in harmony with the natural beauty of the surroundings, practicing under an azure blue sky…I could feel all 7 chakras coming into perfect alignment. BALANCE. Sacred energy. Pure JOY. What more could one possibly require?

      I’ve long been subject to problems with my balance that are the result of an inner ear disorder. I’ve practiced yoga for years and, although I’ve received many benefits from my practice, it hasn’t done much to relieve my balance difficulties. I’m amazed that after only two lessons with Lydia I can stand steadily on one leg, then on the other, then do it again. I’m delighted with my new sense of stability.

      She is every woman’s best beauty secret and will take 10 years off you as you leave glowing with radiance, love and joy that is your true essence! Her private healing and teaching sessions are incredible and I highly recommend her for your stay in San Miguel. She is a wonderful person and her radiance is always so inspiring to me.
