Informative event by EKR México Centro in collaboration with Green Burial Council.
We will learn about the history, requirements, functions, and services of green burial and conservation cemeteries, as well as ecological practices for handling our remains, and their social and spiritual aspects. In addition, we will have the opportunity to collaborate and contribute to such a noble cause as the green burial for reforestation movement and conservation of natural resources, which also fosters a healthy relationship with death, our rites of death, the earth, and our legacy to future generations. Finally we will consider how to make this option a reality within everyone’s reach.
The Green Burial Council is a non profit organization that inspires and advocates for environmentally sustainable natural death care through education and certification. Our values are to respect the rituals that create meaning for both the living and the dead, to honor the earth and recognize the importance of caring for her in how we bury the dead, recognizing and honoring that funeral and burial traditions are sacred. It is the priority of the Green Burial Council to make death care sustainable both environmentally and operationally so that future generations may benefit from our work. We strive for integrity in all aspects of our operation by holding ourselves to the highest standards and are leaders in making certifiable, sustainable death care practices available for all.
