The Midday Rotary Club presents another in a series of presentations on medical care in San Miguel de Allende. Last August, local expats came out to hear Dr. Ricardo Gordillo speak about the trailblazing efforts underway at La Clinica. This Tuesday, January 21st, we are most pleased to welcome Valeria Ramirez, the Director of Unimed Health System Hospital in San Miguel de Allende.
Ms. Ramirez graduated with a degree in Business Administration and was the General Director of the Mexico City Tourism Board before starting her work in the medical profession. She was recruited to be the Hospital Director of UNIMED here in San Miguel almost one year ago.When one thinks of needing medical care in Mexico, there’s a great deal of apprehension about the quality of the facility. Is it state of the art? Are the doctors knowledgeable? Can they speak English? The experience I and many others have had here in San Miguel De Allende is a resounding yes! We are most fortunate to have some excellent facilities nearby. One of those is UNIMED. UNIMED is the only 24/7 emergency hospital with 2 ambulances on call around the clock. The facility is state of the art and includes MRI. CT Scan, Ultrasound, and an onsite lab. Join us this Tuesday to find out more when Valeria Ramirez, along with staff physician Dr. Osvaldo Garcia will speak about medical care in SMA. They’ll also be available to speak to attendees about medical issues immediately after the meeting.
In weeks and months to come, we plan to have speakers from other health agencies and organizations at our meetings. From dieticians, to dermatologists, to dentists, we look forward to these upcoming presentations.
The Midday Club of San Miguel de Allende meets every Tuesday. Doors open at 9 AM, the meeting begins at 9:30 AM. We’re located at Los Arcos at #27 Sterling Dickenson.
