  • Festival de Agricultura Biodinámica de las Américas

From Wednesday, September 18th to Saturday, September 21st
from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm

El Charco del Ingenio Botanical Garden,
    Paloma S/N, Las Colonias

    Rudolf Steiner

We are pleased to share with you that the VI National Meeting of Biodynamic Agriculture will be held from September 18 to 21, 2019 in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato.

This year, in addition to holding the national event, Mexico has the honor of hosting the XXXIV Latin American Meeting of Biodynamic Agriculture, being the first time this meeting will happen outside the South and Central America.

The convergence between Latin American countries that will allow this event to take place is of paramount importance for the strengthening and growth of the biodynamic community in the Americas. Therefore, we consider it very important to extend the invitation and participation of the Biodynamic Associations of the United States and Canada.

The Biodynamic Agriculture Festival of the Americas, is an unprecedented continental event, it is a Festival in the deepest sense that we have known as humanity since times past:

“The festivals not only commemorate great historical events but are themselves spiritual events that make visible the imaginations of cosmic rhythms and bring insights into how to deepen personal inner life and tell us how to bring this to community life.”

“A festival has the quality of getting us out of the ordinary and taking us towards the mysteries of the rhythms of the seasons, therefore, the great festivals exist to testify to our connection with the entire universe.”
    Rudolf Steiner

Much of San Miguel’s splendor can be discovered in its abundance of man made beauty, but at El Charco del Ingenio, nature is the aesthetic draw. At this more than 170-acre botanical garden set in an ecological preserve, you’ll have the chance to spot wildlife, walk along greenery-lined trails and learn about various species of local cacti. Meanwhile, the San Miguel community often gathers in the garden to watch performances, partake in ceremonies and attend environmental education programs. Recent travelers recommend enjoying a hike through the park, picnicking alongside the waterfalls or spending an evening at a concert in the outdoor amphitheater. Located just a mile northeast of central San Miguel, El Charco del Ingenio can be reached on foot (it’s about a 30-minute walk from the municipal market) or by taxi. The reserve is open daily from sunrise to sunset. Led by English-speaking guides, two-hour tours of the conservation area operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. NATURAL HISTORY TOURS AT THE BOTANICAL GARDEN (in English) Recorrido de la Historia Natural por El Jardin Botanico (en inglés) Tuesdays/Thursdays 10am-noon general public: 150pesos; members 100pesos Martes/Jueves de 10am a mediodia; public general: 150pesos; miembros 100pesos Bird Watching Tours every first and third Wednesday of the month. 9: 00-11: 30 am; public general: 150pesos; miembros 100pesos For more information, visit the garden’s website.
