SMA Community Clap

Clap to show your appreciation for all essential workers in SMA every MONDAY night at 6 PM. As the situation escalates, we will ask that you make this part of your daily routine; a much welcomed break from self-isolation.

SMA will come together to celebrate all the doctors, nurses, healthcare workers,, grocery store workers, restaurant workers, truck drivers, sanitation workers, personal shoppers and delivery people, airline workers, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and whoever else deserves that round of applause; which will continue for 2 minutes; longer if you like. Those workers deserve our respect, appreciation and applause for as long as it takes to get through this.

What can you do? Please add your friends to the invite list on Facebook. The next one is scheduled for April 6th at 6 PM.

Our goal is to get everyone in SMA clapping. It may take awhile but WE WILL GET THERE if you help.

Message me on Facebook with any of your ideas on how to increase the size and spirit of this community tribute. SMA is going to make a lot of noise to show their appreciation so get your neighborhood involved and bring tell them to use lots of noisemakers.

We’re all in this together so united we stand for all of the essential workers in SMA who are keeping us safe right now.

As info, the practice of clapping has gone global; from the COVID-19 epicenter of Wuhan, China to the villages of Lombardy, from Milan to Madrid, onto Paris, London and New York. There have also been standing ovations in Istanbul, Atlanta, Buenos Aires and Tamil Nadu, India.
