The designers will be showing their latest Art to Wear designs which will be available to purchase after the show.

All seats have an up close view of all the clothing and models. Please join us for this exciting event that supports young women in the rural areas surrounding San Miguel de Allende. We provide scholarships to young women who otherwise would not be able to stay in school or attend university.

We are currently serving 187 young women both in Secondaria and at University.

Mujeres en Cambio (Women in Change) is one of the most admired and effective nonprofit organizations in San Miguel. Last year, MeC awarded 1.7 million pesos in scholarships to 187 girls from forty-six rural villages. Very few NGOs can boast so impressive a track record, or for that matter, so clearly defined a mission: to combat poverty with education. Thanks to MeC, girls from rural towns who excel academically can receive the funding they need to get a high school or college diploma, a passport to a better life.

There are a number of ways to support this worthy organization, and one of those ways is to attend one of the most entertaining and chic events of the year in San Miguel. On Wednesday, October 23, at 5pm, in the large open patio at the Instituto Allende, MeC will present its sixth annual fashion show, complete with runway models, featuring the collections of two of today’s most creative designers, Alessando Alvani and Fernando Ando. Alvani’s fall and winter fashions were a sensation at the IDM Fashion Show in Mexico City a few seasons ago.

While the models put on a show right out of the pages of Vogue, attendees will be served drinks and appetizers, and have a chance to win a spectacular piece from Recreo San Miguel, the city’s premier haute couture clothing store.

General admission tickets are 800 pesos, and only 178 places are available. All the tables – round tables that hold ten people, and rectangular tables for four – will provide unobstructed views of the models, who will chart a path that puts them in close view of everyone in the audience.
