  • Posadas are a 400 years old celebration tradition for Christmas time in Mexico. The origin of this festivity comes after the conquest of Mexico, the Christian religious orders used posadas to as a way to teach local indigenous about Christianity, specially to understand the birth of Jesus Crist and the challenges lived by Joseph and Mary before the birth. Today Mexicans celebrate posadas with ponche, piñatas and songs as part of the tradition and hang out with friends and partners.

    Join us at a Traditional Mexican Posada in San Miguel de Allende!!! at a Mexican home. The Posada will be next Thursday, December 20th from 17:00 to 20:00hrs. We will have ponche, appetizers and we will break piñatas.

    . 17:45 – 18:20 Posada songs (we will play the representation of Joseph and Mary looking for shelter using the traditional songs for Posada)

    . 19:00 – 19:30 Piñatas (We will break the piñatas)
