Costume Jewelry Benefit
Tuesday, February 13, 5pm
Casa Carly, Calzada de la Aurora 48
Women (and men) in San Miguel, throughout the US and Canada have donated hundreds of pieces of high-end costume jewelry that they no longer wear that will be sold at prices as low as 50 pesos at the third Baubles, Bangles, and Beads event to benefit Rural Ed this Tuesday, Feb 13th at 5pm at Casa Carly, Calzada de La Aurora 48.
The last two years’ events drew large crowds and there was lots of excitement as people circled the tables covered with sparkling earrings, necklaces and bracelets. One multi-colored beaded necklace was in such demand that people were still trying to buy it from the new owner even after the event ended. If you’re coming from out of town, this event is a great way to learn more about a local NGO and make new friends.
There will also be a Silent Auction for a number of spectacular pieces, including some by local jewelers, and lots of other jewelry is for sale for between 50 and 500 pesos. Throughout the event you can enjoy drinks and appetizers while listening to Johnny Favorite singing romantic songs like Fly Me to the Moon, Dream Lover, and Always on my Mind.
There is an entry fee of only 50 pesos per person, which includes one alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage and appetizers while checking out all the wonderful jewelry. All items are cash only. The event is just in time to buy those last minute Valentine gifts, so bring lots of pesos so you don’t miss out on anything you want to buy. Become a part of this worthwhile effort and treat yourself and your friends to some new jewelry at the same time. Proceeds will be used to purchase laptops for Rural Ed’s Prepa (high school) scholarship kids.
Please come, tell your friends about this great pre-Valentine event!
