Let me tell you a bit about Lola Cortina and what she does. Lola has been working a very long time rescuing the felines of San Miguel de Allende. Her sanctuary houses around 100 cats. It feeds, shelters, sterilizes, re-homes, and vaccinates them. And she comes up with neat ideas to earn the money to do this.

I met her years ago as one of the artists she asked to donate artwork as prizes for her Bingo Games. Another really neat idea of hers: WORKING CATS! She would bring a feral cat – used to being a loner-to a grocer/warehouse/whatever to protect their areas from rodents. A win/win for both! And she would follow up checking to be sure that work was being well cared for. And a rescue that touched my heart: a gardener wanted to kill a feral cat but Lola stepped in and rescued it – and found a home. Just one of her many rescues.

Ok- folks – what goes around – comes around. Now with cancer, she needs help herself. Ana and Juan Luis are arranging an Auction for her. It´s their first – so please bear with them. Some donating artists´ names may have been miss-spelled or missed as the list of donators grows daily. They are on their second poster of names! (Sincere Apologies.) But rest assured all will be named and their work represented at the AUCTION ON 9 SEPTEMBER FROM 5-8 PM. Come early to make your selection with the auction beginning at 7 pm at Cafe de Cajon on Insurgentes 62, Centro.

We are all giving good prices for our work but the goal is to earn the most possible for her cancer treatment. Come and help – another win/win situation. And you´ll get a star in your crown.
