Maestra Isis Rodriguez is a dynamic art teacher who incorporates both classical methods dating back 500 years and modern art school practices. She works with each student’s nature to help them find their unique style while giving them the confidence and skill to improve and continue on their personal works of art. ABOUT THE CLASSES
Classes are conducted in a peaceful and meditative environment at San Miguel´s Galería San Francisco. Prices include models, props, photographs, equipment, demonstrations, tutorials and/or an occasional field trip at the discretion of the teacher. For more information contact Maestra Isis.
Isis Rodriguez, a professional exhibition artist for over 25 years and a dynamic teacher of the arts for 20, is a specialist in the human figure working with all levels, from beginner, intermediate and advanced and all ages. She received her Bachelors of Fine Art in Painting at University of Kansas in1988 studying under the direction of Italian and European Master artists who could paint both realistically and abstract.
Isis moved to San Francisco California where she pursued her career in the Avant-garde, exhibiting in galleries and museums both nationally and internationally ie The De Young Museum in San Francisco, CA. USA and the Cervantino Art Festival in Guanajuato, Guanajuato Mexico. Her artwork has been critiqued and published in several books, including Judy Chicago and Edward Lucie Smith’s “Women and Art: Contested Territory” and “Vicious, Delicious, and Ambitious: 20th Century Women Artists”. She moved to Oaxaca to attend an artist residency, “The Curtiduria” to continue with her personal works, and opened The Atelier of Cultural Realism to full fill the need of students who never had academic training. She relocated to San Miguel de Allende in 2011, where she taught Drawing & Painting at the Instituto Allende for 5 years and currently offers her classes at Galeria San Francisco.
