  • Todo y Nada is back for April! A new performance series in SMA, each month we pair a feature writer and a musician and also showcase voices from the community at our open mic. Music, poetry, stories, and more. All mediums welcome! This month we are excited to be featuring award winning poet and writer Catherine Marenghi and singer songwriter Pascal Monzies.     About Catherine: A native of Massachusetts, transplanted to San Miguel de Allende, Catherine Marenghi is the author of Breaking Bread: Poems (2020) and Glad Farm: A Memoir (2016). An award-winning poet, she has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and twice received first-place honors from the Academy of American Poets university poetry prize. Her work has appeared in international publications. She is active in the rich literary community of San Miguel, where she has served on the board of the San Miguel Poetry Café and also co-founded Poetry Mesa, an international poetry community, along with poet Judyth Hill. Her historic fiction, Our Good Name, based on her Italian immigrant ancestors, is forthcoming from Arch Street Press in June 2022.
    About Pascal: Born in Switzerland to a French father and an American mother, Pascal grew up exposed to many different cultures and music. He spent his youth back and forth between France and the US as well as spending time in Canada. He finally ended up in Mexico where he began his music career. Pascal’s main instrument is acoustic guitar. He sings and writes songs in English, French, and Spanish. Fused with French romanticism, Latin rhythms and American roots Pascal’s music speaks to a generation of people born in a global village. Pascal now lives in San Miguel de Allende Mexico where performs world music on a regular basis.
