COLLECTIVE ARTISTS FROM OAXACA AT ROSEWOOD SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE

Oaxaca is one of the most important centres of artistic production in Mexico, especially thanks to the school created in by the great talent of the well know Mexican artist Rufino Tamayo, undisputed master protagonist of postwar Mexican art.

Another great artist from Oaxaca is Francisco Toledo, who was born in 1947, has founded institutions for the recovery of cultural heritage, including a library for the blind and a photography centre and a sound library that enrich the cultural panorama of the city of Oaxaca. His art, which stands out in lithography and in the incision, has a strongly expressionist cut, with a touch of black humour.

Fernando Andracci lives in the region of Oaxaca where he knows an important movement of artistic renovation, in which stand out figures such as Francisco Toledo, Rufino Tamayo and Rodolfo Nieto, among others. He is distinguished by his work in painting, ceramics and mural. In his work, animals predominate.

The work of Rosendo Pinacho has been evolving with the years, although we can find throughout its race diverse slopes, always there is a trunk that maintain the congruence of its style. Many of his oil paintings, drawings and engravings are planted with arboreal images.

Sergio Hernandez is a multidisciplinary artist who has travelled through painting, engraving, drawing and ceramics, characterised by the deployment of techniques, shapes and textures.

Guillermo Pacheco born in Sinaloa, but from Oaxacan family, the origin of his works is related to the images he saw in the fields where his father worked for 40 years.
Graduated from the School of Arts and Crafts of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS) Pachec was a founding member of the Sinaloa Science Center. His work was marketed without looking for it, he concentrated on knowing how to paint and how to do his work with passion, the rest came alone.

A member of the elite Rosewood hotel group, the Rosewood San Miguel de Allende has quite the reputation to uphold. Most visitors only have good things to say about the property, praising its central location in San Miguel de Allende, friendly staff members and high-end appearance. The hotel’s 67 rooms reflect the city’s colonial heritage and are outfitted with wood-beamed ceilings, handcrafted furnishings and local artwork. You’ll also have your own terrace or balcony, soaking tub and fireplace (depending on which room you book). Previous visitors highly recommend an evening drink at the Luna Rooftop Tapas Bar, where you can enjoy fantastic city views. The Mexican cuisine at 1826 Restaurant also earns high praise; however, some caution that meals here can be pricey. Sense, A Rosewood Spa receives the same critique, though serenity-seeking guests found the massages and skin treatments to be worth the extra coin. The hotel also features a variety of activities (for an extra fee), including art workshops, wine tastings and half-day horseback riding tours.
